ABR OFFICE, GRAND UNION CANAL, NORTH KENSINGTON
A triple height vinyl silo of a disused record factory located on the Gran Union Canal was converted into a design office. Folded steel sheet stairs finished with flame applied zinc, on one side suspended on 6 mm stainless steel cables and custom made stainless steel brackets, provided access to a mezzanine office and meeting space. The stairs were set against a backdrop of an abstract mural inspired by the shimmering of butterfly wings. An ambience of a generous open-air garden was created through choice of materials and the use of mature trees.
